Get Well Soon Jon Dee Graham

Found this note recently on the No Depression website and wanted to pass it along. It seems musician Jon Dee Graham has been hospitalized due to injuries suffered in a car crash last weekend. Jon was making the late night drive back to his home in Austin, TX after a show in Dallas when he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed on I-35. Graham spent time in intensive care with some broken bones and internal injuries, but is reportedly doing much better now… although he will probably remain in the hospital for a time.

Graham’s friends in Austin have already held one benefit concert to help raise some money to cover his hospital bills. I imagine more will be held in the future. Keep an eye on Jon Dee Graham’s myspace page for more info.

In the meantime… here are a few tracks from Graham. The first is from a self-titled album released in 1986 by the True Believers. Graham was a member of that band along with his good friend Alejandro Escovedo. The next track is from Alejandro’s 2006 CD, The Boxing Mirror, and features Graham on guitar. Finally, it’s the title track from Graham’s 2004 release, The Great Battle.

Enjoy these tunes from a member of the Austin Music Hall of Fame (inducted in 2000), and remember to check Jon Dee’s myspace page to keep track of his condition.
